It's better... to be hated for what you are...
than to be loved for what you're not... i guess... The greatest pain in life is to be ignored....to be forgotten...For friends to always be too busy to console you when you need someone to lift your spirits...When it seems like the only person who cares about you, is you..

kisses,
liza

Artists Week

An exclusive presentation by acclaimed US contemporary artist Doug Aitken, whose body of work ranges from photography, sculpture, architecture, sound installation and multi channel video installation.

Aitken has used light in many manifestations in his work and including several sculptural works from neon. His recent night-time public installation sleepwalkers (2007) at the Museum of Modern Art in New York comprised eight large-scale moving images projected around the Museum and on its facades, enlivening the architecture with the nocturnal journeys of fi ve city inhabitants.

As part of the Festival’s Speed of Light strand, Doug Aitken’s keynote presentation will explore themes of light and illumination in contemporary visual art practice.

Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art 2008-Handle With Care

2008 marks the tenth anniversary presentation of the Adelaide Biennial, surveying current practice, through the work of 21 artists from across the nation.

Handle with Care, the 2008 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art considers aspects of contemporary life that generate disquiet and debate. An undercurrent of anxiety in today’s society is explored in sculpture, photography, video, painting and installations by well-known Australian-born and immigrant artists, and by emerging artists whose work engages in a range of sociopolitical issues.

A sub-theme of the exhibition is the experience of transiting between cultures, of crossing racial, national as well as psychological borders. Collectively, works in the exhibition describe – both in thematic content and material form – the fragile nature of our relationships with the cultural and natural environments in which we live.

Artists exhibiting in Handle with Care include Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Dadang Christanto, Lorraine Co...

child with epilepsy...

from webmd site:

Epilepsy: Caring for a Child with Epilepsy

Children with epilepsy need help dealing with the emotional challenges of their disease.

The challenges of parenting are compounded if your child has epilepsy. Not only do you have the normal concerns about raising a child now you have to address added emotional concerns your child may have about living with the illness.

Emotional Toll of Epilepsy

It's natural for a child who has a chronic illness or who is different from other children to feel resentful. Children with an illness such as epilepsy may develop emotional problems, such as poor self-esteem or depression. These problems may come from within (anger, embarrassment, frustration), or from outside (children with epilepsy may be teased by other children).

As a parent, you can help your child deal with these feelings in the following ways:

Make sure your child understands as much about his or her disease as possible.
Try to get your child to be positive about his or he...

Freedom Writers

FWs is one of the most touching movie ever made... The story line is simple yet very special to me... Inspired by a true story of a teacher who try to make a difference by eliminating the racism that exist among her students, FWs is very interesting and full of excitement...A must watch movie =p
